Day 1. Arrival
Arrival at Sofia Airport. You will be welcomed by a professional tour guide.
Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Sofia.
Day 2. Sofia - Rila Monastery - Sandanski - Chateu Hotovo
Sightseeing tour of Sofia including a visit to the Alexander Nevski Cathedral.
On the way to the winegrowing region of Struma stop for a visit to the famous
Rila Monastery (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage) - a must-see for Bulgaria
visitors. Continue to Sandaski for a wine tasting in Chateau Hotovo and enjoy
tapping wine from the wood yourselves. Red wines are typical for this region:
Merlot, Cabernet, Melnik, Dimyat. Overnight in Sandanski/ Rozhen.
Day 3. Sandanski - Melnik - Rozhen Monastery - Damyanitsa - Sandanski
Sightseeing tour of Melnik - the smallest town in Bulgaria - known for ages for
the good local wine. Explore the vicinity by visiting the picturesque Rozhen
Monastery. Old-village-style lunch in the tiny village of Rozhen - experience
the regional cuisine by having home made bread local specialties. Wine tasting
of famous regional red wines in the cellar of Damyanitsa. Overnight in Sandanski/
Rozhen.
Day 4. Sandanski - Picnic Bansko - Bessa Valley wine cellar - Plovdiv
Follow the route to the picturesque town of Bansko - one of the best ski resorts
of the country. A visit to the old part of the town and then enjoy a picnic in
the Pirin Mountains. After lunch continue through the gorges of the Rhodope
Mountains to Plovdiv. A wine tasting in the exclusive Bessa Valley wine cellar
known for the deep purple aromatic wine Enira - a mixture of Merlot und Cabernet
Sauvignon. Dinner in a tavern in Old Plovdiv. Overnight in Plovdiv.
Day 5. Plovdiv - Batschkovo Monastery - Villa Vinifera wine cellar
Enjoy a walk in the romantic old town of Plovdiv and see the Ethnographic Museum
and the Roman Theater. Leave the city to visit the country’s second largest
monastery Bachkovo situated in the picturesque Rhodope Mountains. A wine tasting
in Villa Vinifera wine cellar including qualitative wines of the region: Mavrud,
Cabernet and Merlot with shiny colour, intensive fragrance and complete fruity
flavour.
Day 6. Plovdiv - Koprivshtitsa - Sofia
Departure to the town of the roses Kazanluk. See the Thracian Tomb dating back
to the 4th century B.C. (UNESCO World cultural heritage) and visit the
Ethnographic complex where you are invited to taste different rose products.
Continue to the museum town Koprivshtitsa and experience the atmosphere of the
National Revival period. Folk Style Evening out in Sofia. Overnight in Sofia.
Day 7. Departure
Transfer to the Sofia airport.
